Elizabeth graduated as a Registered Sick Children’s Nurse in Edinburgh in 1981 and subsequently did
the General Nurse Training (Aberdeen) and Midwifery (Glasgow) training. Apart from one year as a
Staff Midwife and a brief secondment to the Cardiac Unit at Great Ormond Street all her nursing
experience has been gained at The Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh in Critical Care. In
1998 she studied for MSc in Child Health at Edinburgh University part-time while continuing to work
full time. In 2010 she commenced ANP training for Critical Care and has worked in this role since.
Elizabeth enjoys cycling, running and ballet. She is a Christian and outside of work gives her time and
energy to Christian activities. She served voluntarily on a Mission Ship for two years in Asia and
Australasia and after retirement hopes to give more time to mission activities where her
professional skills will prove very useful.
